In Ireland, the Small Claims Procedure through the District Court handles consumer and small business claims up to €2,000 for a €25 fee. It is designed for use without a solicitor, and most cases are resolved by the Small Claims Registrar without a hearing.

For larger disputes, the District Court hears claims up to €15,000 and the Circuit Court up to €75,000. Free Legal Advice Centres (FLAC) and Citizens Information provide guidance to people who cannot afford a solicitor.
